The Career and Counselling Cell organized a two-day training programme on Computer Literacy for the uninitiated students of the college on March 3 & 4, 2016. A total number of 26 students (B.A. Part I: 19, B.A. Part II: 3, B.Sc. Part-III: 5) participated in the two-day training programme to learn the basics of computer and its operation. The training programme was held at the computer science laboratory from 10-30 a.m. to 4-30 p.m. with a 30-minute break for tiffin. The tailor-made course content was devised jointly by Ms Duna Saha, Dept. of Computer Science and Mr Sudipta Dey, Dept. of Zoology, and was implemented in consultation with the Coordinator of the Cell and with other resource persons for the programme—Dr M.N. Moitra, Dr Ranjan Sharma, Ms. Payel De. The members of the Cell assisted the resource persons and the participants as and when required. The basic skills of computer operation and browsing of internet etc. were imparted to the participants, and there was visible enthusiasm in the participants. The participants were given certificates after the successful completion of the course. The feedback from the participants regarding various aspects of the training programme was obtained in the prescribed feedback form.
